On International Women in Engineering Day 2026, we celebrate the remarkable women whose expertise, creativity and leadership continue to drive our industry forward.
This year’s theme, #EngineeringIntelligence, perfectly reflects the talent and innovation that women bring to engineering across every part of our sector. It also connects strongly with WRD’s Cool Intelligence – the insight, ingenuity and problem-solving that keep our industry moving forward.
Since its launch in 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society, International Women in Engineering Day has grown into a global movement that recognises the achievements of women engineers and encourages more girls and women to pursue engineering careers.
At WRD, this message is reflected in our annual campaigns – Cool Skills, Cool Champions and this year’s Cool Intelligence – which showcase and recognise the thousands of people across the WRD global community who shine on this day and every day of the year.
Across the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump community, many women are among those leading the way – designing solutions, advancing sustainability, driving innovation, mentoring others and opening doors for the next generation. Their Cool Intelligence has helped shape our sector as it is today and will continue to strengthen it for the future.
Today, we celebrate their achievements and the example they set. By championing the women who lead, innovate and inspire in our sector, we help build a stronger industry and encourage the next generation to bring their own intelligence, talent and ambition to the future of cooling.
