The British Council has launched its Women in Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) scholarships for a sixth consecutive year, offering fully funded postgraduate study at UK universities for women pursuing STEM subjects.

The programme aims to widen access to advanced STEM education, strengthen female leadership and address persistent gender gaps in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. For the 2026–27 academic year, 90 scholarships are available globally for applicants from 30 countries, covering tuition fees, living costs, travel and visa expenses. Delivered through the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships, the programme highlights the role of postgraduate pathways in building a more inclusive and internationally connected STEM ecosystem.

Applications for the Women in STEM scholarships are open until 30 April 2026.
